Missions Impossible is Mission Accomplished

What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are. – Anthony Robbins

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “move from here to there” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible to you. – Jesus Christ

Swap to Adopt

Well, Leslie and I leave tomorrow at 5am to go to the airport…. We are very excited, but very sad that the whole family can’t come. We will arrive at 4:35 at Nashville airport. As most of you know from the last few post, we are coming back so that I can work to raise money for Frankin’s adoption; and my first week is almost completely booked. Praise to God! We do have another way you can help if you don’t want to get your hair cut…

February is the Month of Love!

Well, we are already going into the 2 week of January. We have big expectations for 2012.  One of those expectations was for our family to travel to the States for the month of February in order to raise the money needed to adopt Franklin. Unfortunately, we received the bad news that Franklin can not travel with us until he is adopted. We are very disappointed, but at the same time we know that God is in control and has his reasons for all things. On our way back from the Capital, our car broke down. All that to say, God knew best…. The money we had set aside for airline tickets for the whole family will now be used to repair our car.

It’s a New Year!

When I think about starting a new year, I often think about making new year’s resolutions. I’m just like everyone else; I have my own new year’s resolution, but one of the things that Tony and I like to ask at the start of a new year is: “God, what do you want from us this coming year?” Actually, we’ve been asking this question the last couple of months.

Purity Mission Team/ 832 New Believers

“How can a young man keep his way pure?…” Psalm 119:9a

This is the question that we posed to over 2000 students this past week! Is abstinence possible? The answer is YES! The next
question to ask is HOW? Well, the rest Psalm 119:9 answers that question.

“…By living according to your word.” Psalm 119:9b

Sharing the Gospel Live on the Radio!

Tony has had such a good response to the men’s Bible study that he is leading in Bella Vista that God has opened up a door of opportunity for him to take it live on the radio. He is using the study called, “The Exemplary Husband”.

2 New Believers and Hearing is Restored!

Over the past month we have had some great ministry opportunities, and I want to highlight some important things that have taken place all because of your support and your prayers. We made a contact with a doctor in the States as well as a doctor here in the Dominican Republic. God made it possible for us to receive several hearing aids for some very special people that we happen to minister to every week. Today I will share with you one particular story.

Living “Sent” Isn’t Always Easy!

When we made the decision to follow Jesus to the Dominican Republic, we had no idea what all God would teach us through this experience. When Jesus called his disciples to follow Him, they, too, had no idea what all they would go through because of that decision. As I have studied the scripture and read their stories, I begin to realize that their journey with Christ was also a way for Jesus to grow them in their own faith. While life here in the Dominican Republic can be exciting at times, there are also times when I start to think, “Am I really making a difference?” In those moments, God has been so good to send the encouragement that I needed to get my eyes back on Him.

The Latest on Franklin

Powered by Cincopa WordPress plugin
As most of you know we have had a precious little boy by the name of Franklin Pierre who has been living with us since the end of February. He has been such a joy in our lives. It has been incredible to see our other children take him in and love him as if I had birthed him myself. As you all know Franklin has been very sick since he was born.

Sharing the Gospel in La Cienega

Powered by Cincopa WordPress plugin
Last week  we went into one of the villages in La Cienega. Dr Kerolle who works at Transformation House had set up an educational class with the women about pregnancy. We met at one of the local churches/ schools to hold the class. There were about 30 women who came to the class. Dr. Kerolle told us that once they were through  sharing their information, we could share the gospel with them.
