It is hard to believe that God has brought this all together like He has. I would have never dreamed a few years ago that we would be where we are and doing what we are doing! This week is thanksgiving and we so thankful for all that God has done in our lives, and for how He has provided not only for our family, but for all the ministry that we have done in that last 2 1/2 years. We know that He will continue to provide for the work that he has started.
God never ceases to amaze me in how He will put together the perfect team and do phenomenal things with them. Their team may have been small, but with God, they were mighty! Joi Wasill, Leslie Neal, CheyAnn Neal and Kelsey Crotts, from First Baptist Hendersonville, TN came to the DR to bring the message of Purity. Their message really hit the kids hard…. We had hundreds of kids commit to purity until marriage and pray to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior.
This past week, we had the privilege to have Melissa Heiland, the director of Beautiful Feet International, come and train Corelia, our Pregnancy Center Director, and I in Volunteer training….. We are now prepared to train our future volunteers for the Pregnancy Resource Center here in Sosua, Dominican Republic.
The team has arrived with supplies for the Pregnancy Center and lots of energy for the week ahead.... Here is the update on the team and what they accomplished. This team were incredibly hard workers… There were a total of 11 people who came. 6 of them worked at the Pregnancy Center every day for about 8 hours and then got cleaned up and held a marriage conference on 4 different nights. 5 of the women on the team held women’s conferences during the day and came along side their husbands at night for the marriage conferences.
Well, the first thing I want to say is that God is good!!! Today was the first day of our abstinence program in the public school here in the Dominican Republic. We spoke with around 150 kids. They heard things that many of them just don’t here… Not only did they here the abstinence message, but they also heard the gospel. We had about 20 kids trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior. While the abstinence message is extremely important, where they will spend eternity is much more important!!!
We have several aspects to our ministry here in the Dominican Republic and one of those is to give a helping hand to bring people up out of poverty. We are really excited to tell you that because of our supporters, we have assisted a young man and his wife is starting a mobile cafe.
The name of the center will be “Hope of Life Pregnancy Center” or in Español it is “Centro de Embarazo Esperanza de Vida”. After all, God is the God of Hope and He uses women to bring life into the world through pregnancy. I am absolutely amazed at how God is putting all this together. And trust me, it is ALL God!
We had an amazing team at the end of June. This team was from Scottsville, Ky. It was a youth team and God used them in an amazing way. We held Vacation Bible School at 4 different churches. We had over 250 kids pray to receive Christ. God did some incrediable things with this team.
Mission teams have started for the year. Our first team of the year was from Central Baptist in Indiana lead by Beautiful Feet International.
